Born in Gençay, France, Aude Moreau lives and works in Montréal. She holds a B.A. in visual arts from Université de Paris 8 and has trained in stage design. Her works and performances have been seen in Canada, France, Switzerland, Italy and the United States. At ORANGE she is showing the in situ installation Tapis de sucre 2 [Sugar Carpet], a blanket of powdered sugar inscribed with decorative motifs that produce trompe l’oeil effects. Using sugar as the artwork’s raw material links it to notions of bodily comfort and dependence and to its associated cultural values. Moreau is also presenting a performance titled From foot to mouth.
