Sylvette Babin

Montreal-based Sylvette Babin was born in 1967 in Caplan, Gaspésie. She holds an MFA in open media from Concordia University (1999) and a BFA from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (1993). Her installations and performances have been seen in Canada, Italy, Korea, Germany, Ireland and elsewhere. In 2007, she appeared at Infr'Action 07: Festival international de performance and Préavis de désordre urbain, street events held in the French cities of Sète and Marseilles. A writer, curator and, since 2002, director of the art magazine esse arts + opinions, she also teaches in the urban arts and theatre program at Collège de Shawinigan.

Marcel Blouin

Born in 1960 in Saint-Barnabé-Sud, Marcel Blouin lives and works in Saint-Hyacinthe. He holds an MA in art studies (2000) from Université du Québec à Montréal, where his thesis addressed the question of how digital photography offers a new representation of visible reality. Since 2001 he has been the general and artistic director of EXPRESSION. Previously, he headed Vox Populi, centre de diffusion de la photographie in Montreal (1985-1997), where he also founded and headed the Virtual Museum of Quebec Photography (1993-2001). Cofounder of Mois de la Photo à Montréal, he served as co-director from 1987 to 1989 and as director from 1990 to 1997. In 2003, he initiated and curated the first edition of ORANGE, Contemporary Art Event of Saint-Hyacinthe in collaboration with Mélanie Boucher and Patrice Loubier. He is also a writer and artist. His solo shows include Le Paradis des framboises (2001, Séquence, Chocoutimi, and 2003, VU, centre de diffusion et de production de la photographie, Quebec City, in the Manifestation internationale d'art de Québec).

Geneviève Ouellet

Born in Montreal in 1978, Geneviève Ouellet earned an MA in museology from Université du Québec à Montréal in 2007 with a thesis on the social role of museums in Quebec. She is currently studying cultural organization management at HEC Montréal. Her projects to date include work on the exhibition Fernand Leduc. Libérer la lumière (2006, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Quebec City). She joined the EXPRESSION team as assistant to the director and head of publishing in 2007 and has since contributed to a variety of projects and publications.
