Catherine Bolduc
Mes châteaux d'air / Monts et merveilles
06.06.2009 – 16.08.2009

Catherine Bolduc is a Montreal artist who creates work which conveys the fantastic and marvellous world of childhood, re-interpreting it in many ways: through drawing, sculpture, installation and video. For the past several years, she has been re-directing the viewer’s gaze by blinding it with light and plunging it into a world of illusions, or by dazing it. Through these varied visual strategies, Bolduc invites viewers to take part in the pleasure of dreams and a lack of restraint, in the joy of anticipation, in experiencing strangeness. The exhibition Monts et merveilles, organised by the curator Geneviève Goyer-Ouimette, is an enormous installation bringing together work from the past ten years, through which the visitor is invited to penetrate the artist’s personal and singular world.

Presentation by Catherine Bolduc and Geneviève Goyer-Ouimette Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2 pm.
Opening Saturday, June 6 at 3 pm.
