Eveline Boulva and Sophie Privé
Des instants entre parenthèses
24.01.2009 – 08.03.2009

Eveline Boulva and Sophie Privé, two young artists originally from Quebec City, have a shared interest in the representation of temporality in painting. For Boulva, this interest takes the form of landscapes as forms of subjective perception, while Privé works with the poetry of everyday life through portraiture. While the content of their work differs, their creative process has many similarities. For these two artists, creating images derives in many cases from their use of digital photography and drawing. Through this procedure, Boulva and Privé express a moment, a certain element, accentuating the linearity of the drawing and the idea of narrative in the work. For EXPRESSION, the two artists will create an exhibition out of a dialogue between their respective projects using new and recent work.
