Ficelles, duos intergénérationnels
EXPRESSION’s activities are held in French.
Grandparents and grandchildren, welcome!
Ficelles - duos intergénérationnels offers a perfect opportunity to spend quality family time, weave interpersonal connections between generations, and immortalize precious memories during an activity that introduces you to contemporary art.
To facilitate access to culture for various generations, EXPRESSION offers four days of free activities devoted to creation, amazement, and dialogue. They take place in summer – June and July. Ficelles invites children 6 to 12 years old to come with their grandparents for an artistic experience. The activity is composed of a guided tour of the current exhibition and creative workshops designed to develop curiosity and the desire to learn new art techniques. The pairs participate in short video capsules that feature their artworks and the experiences they’ve had.
At the end of the four-day creative period, EXPRESSION organizes a show. During this afternoon, the general public is invited to see the works and view the videos of the intergenerational pairs.
The content of Ficelles is updated each year to reflect the themes in the current exhibition.
Cost: Free, with reservation
Duration: 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
To find out the exact dates, consult the calendar or our Facebook page, and subscribe to our newsletter.
For the purpose of information and for promotion of the Ficelles project to the community, participants or their guardians will have to sign a consent form so that video or photographic recordings of faces and artworks can be communicated or made accessible.

Painting course for children 9–13 years old
The painting course for children 9–13 years old offers an immersion in the world of contemporary art. For 10 weeks, they’ll have an opportunity to explore various disciplines and techniques and to learn about making abstract and figurative art.
This course enables children to develop their imagination, their sense of observation, and a unique artistic language, thus contributing to the construction of their creative identity and boosting their self-confidence.
Each child is guided in the creation of several personal artworks, with attentive assistance adapted to each participant’s individual needs. In a playful and positive environment, short group conversations are planned to develop and enrich the children’s artistic vocabulary.
The course ends with a vernissage – a chance for the young artists to share and highlight their creations. For family and friends, this special event offers an opportunity to discover their work, see how their creative approach has evolved over the weeks, and chat with the teacher.
• Cost: $220 for 10 weeks (materials included)
• Class duration: from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. (90 minutes)
• When: Tuesdays, from September 24 to December 20, 2024, with two weeks off, November 12 and 19, 2024
• Maximum number of children per group: 6
• No experience required

QUID Art contemporain
EXPRESSION’s activities are held in French.
QUID Art contemporain is an opportunity for an encounter to raise awareness of contemporary art. It has three versions: instilled, informal, and curious. For each exhibition, one of these versions is chosen.
What is QUID?
From the Latin quid, which means “what,” the word “quid” is an interrogative adverb, which is used in a question. It means “What is this?” QUID Art contemporain means “What is contemporary art?”
